Armed Forces - Naval Aviation

The air force, prior to 1944, was not a constituted separate branch of the armed forces but instead various units of the air force formed integral parts of either the army or navy. In 1937 the navy had 46 Aircraft.. 

​Inter War
By 1938–39 about 80 aircraft were operated by the navy and included the Supermarine Southampton, Supermarine Walrus, Fairey Seal, Fairey III, Vought O2U Corsair, Consolidated P2Y, Curtiss T-32 Condor II, Douglas Dolphin and Grumman J2F Duck.

World War II
On 11 February 1944 with the establishment of the Aeronautical Command, an independent airforce on par with the Army and the Navy was formed.
