Sanger Antipodeal Bomber
One of the most outstanding projects of the WWII was this extra-long range bomber designed to attack the mainland of the U.S.A., dated 1938-1942. Start was planned from the special 3 km (1.8 miles) long monorail track assisted with the captive rocket booster of 600 tons thrust. The main rocket engine of 100 tons thrust was to boost the speed of the aircraft to enable it enter the Earth orbit. The atmosphere "skip" effect was to assist the bomber to reach the other side of the planet and to perform the strike with one 1000 kg bomb. The plane was equipped with retractable undercarriage for landing.
