RAF Nevington
RAF Nevington, at its height, consisted of both fighter and bomber commands.
The main Hanger, Hanger 1, consists of the gothic style Nevington castle that was renovated and extended to form the largest of the 3 hangers. In the ceiling of Hanger 1 the museum houses its training glider collection. (Gliders in the Attic) In addition there are 3 smaller hangers, Hanger 2, Hanger 3 and Hanger 51. Hanger 2 is home to exhibits from the UK and United Sates. Hanger 3 contains exhibits from smaller countries. Hanger 51 contains the Museums UFO collection. Bomber Command Along the N1 from the Swallows Nest, in a quiet corner, is the Museums Bomber Command. Bomber command has a variety of exhibits including the Bombing Practice Arrows, the Winding Taxiway, Control Tower, Nissan Hut emergency Centre and Bomber Resupply Vehicles as well as RAF Bombers.
