Infantry Tank Mark IIa/M ~ See Matilda IIa/M.
Infantry Tank Mark IIb/M ~ See Matilda IIb/M. Mild steel training version of the Matilda IIb.
Infantry Tank Mark IIM ~ See Matilda IM.

Matilda I (Infantry Tank Mark II) ~ First production type with AEC diesel engines and Vicker co-axial machine gun.

Matilda I [France Mod] ~ Matilda I modified in France 1939/40 with a tail skid and raised suspension.
Matilda IM ~ Mild steel training tank.
Matilda II (Infantry Tank Mark IIa). The Mark II fitted with a 7.92mm Besa co-axial MG in place of original Vickers type and turret ventilator. 
Matilda IIa/M ~ Mild steel training tank.
Matilda IIb ~ A12E2 modified with 7 litre Leyland diesel engine and Wilson gearbox and steering system. Later used as testbed for Freeborn automatic transmission system.
