Kubelwagen type 155/1 Half Track
VW Kubelwagen Type 155/1 "Schneeraupe" tested in the autumn of 1942. The prototype was a Type 82 converted to the Type 155/1. The first tests were done without the the front skis. When the vehicle gained speed the front wheels dug into the snow so skis were added. There is another photo showing the tracks and the skis. In photo 3 the 155/1 was tested against the SdKfz 2 NSU Kettenrad. Despite positive results, the vehicle was never taken into production, because the modifications necessary were extensive and the resulting vehicle was to slow and inefficient.
