Nevington Rules of EngagementChapter 5 Theaters of Operation and Commands“Theatres of Operation and Command” is a series of modules that portrays war from the Strategic level down to skirmish level. Enough information is provided to begin at the onset of the Sino Japanese conflicts of 1931 through to the end of World War II in 1945. Each theatre and sub theatre is discussed more fully in the following sections and consists of the history, orders of battle with unit counters down to battalion level, special campaign rules and tables of equipment for each level of game play where applicable.
The term “theater” is used loosely and does not always precisely match the historical boundaries of a particular command at a particular time period during the war. The following “theaters” are used. Theatre of Operations US Chinese, Pacific and Atlantic Commands: The US Pacific partner takes Alaska, Western US, Mexico, and if there is no 8th player, also takes China and Sinkiang. His theatre of operationsis Karelia, Caucasus, Persia, Syria-Iraq, and all territories east. The US Atlantic partner takes the remainder of the areas, including Eastern US, Panama, West Indies, Brazil, Europe and Africa. If there is an 8th player, that player gets China and Sinkiang, and his theatre of operations is the Asian mainland only. Germany German and Italian Commands: The Italian partner takes only Southern Europe in Europe, Africa, and Syria-Iraq. The German partner takes the remainder of Europe, the British Isles, Asia, and any other island or continent captured. UK Britain and Colonial Commands: The British partner takes UK, and his theatre of operations is Europe and Africa. The Colonial partner takes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India, and his theatre of operations is Asia, Southeast Asia and the Americas.
